ECAP Zurich summarizes in a way the whole history of ECAP and also reflects the development of the organisation: The first office was installed at the then trade union SMUV in Zurich, the first classrooms and workshops were opened at Wehntalerstrasse. The activities included vocational training opportunities in various areas, catching up on the Italian secondary school leaving certificate (Licenza Media) and the first German courses. Parallel to the development of migration in Switzerland, our range of education has also expanded and changed. However, we have remained true to our principles. Today, as in the past, our activities are characterised by the desire to promote the social and professional integration of migrants of all nationalities in Switzerland, as well as solidarity and exchange between people from different cultures.
Employees are the foundation of our work and our most important resource. The cultural diversity of our team contributes significantly to a better understanding of our customers' needs, easier access to course information and counselling services, and reducing inhibitions.
